i remember seeing it. i thought he was dead. i think he hit the tires with 290 kmh, hat should be about 180 mph or so. his car didnt slow down much off the track.

at 2001 when i was 8 years old kid, i thought it was alesi, so till now i thought , that this accident was reason of alesi’s retirement from f1. but it was burti o.O

I remember seeing this live and thinking…this is it for Burti. Luckily he came out of it ok. Had this happened not even 5 years earlier it would’ve very likely been fatal.
