Trying to decide between UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara?

I have been accepted to five colleges and have narrowed it down to UCI and UCSB (I am still waiting to hear from Cal Poly). I intend to become a mechanical engineer. Which school is better for engineering. Aside from academics, I am looking to have an excellent college experiance, so I want a school that has a balance of fun and academics. I am open to any comments on either school.

For mech engineering compared to irvines rank of 34.
For mech engineering compared to sb sb sb is ranked 19th in engineering for mech engineering compared to sb is ranked 19th.
